August 26, 2006 , Day 16
Friends,
Today was a relatively uneventful day, but busy nonetheless. I slept virtually through the night. I woke up to a young doctor asking me how I was doing. Through the day, I got another CT Scan of my chest. Then I had several sets of visitors which was really great, although very tiring. I was running a very low grade fever through the day, no problem. I have not walked around at all today. My fluid levels cause significant pain when I stand up still. This evening, though, my temp has started coming up again. Overall, a tiring but pleasant day.
My hair is falling out in big clumps now. I can just reach up and grap a pinch and take it away. I still haven't been able to wrangle a haircut. Menchie brought a lint remover from home today and cleans my pillow occasionally. That is a big help. I guess my whole face is bright red today. I haven't seen it. I want to be able to sleep.
On the medical front - Today's CT scan revealed the same pneumonia spots with maybe some more. They are going to try to adjust my antibiotics again in order to combat that. The doctor mentioned to me for the first time today that they might go directly from induction to Stem Cell Transplant. That will be interesting. WBC is .7! Still no cause for celebration, but I am cautiously optimistic. Of course a rising WBC count brings on possible fevers, and other conditions. Things remain interesting.
