August 29, 2006 , Day 19

Friends,

This is Menchie at the keyboard with Ted dictating while sitting on ice to break the latest fever.

Correction to yesterday's note: I actually had an echocardiogram done without me knowing it. I was still sleeping off the sedation from the bronchoscopy.

After a pretty normal night, I felt real good this morning. I talked on the radio, peeled great sheets of skin off my arms(the doctor got mad at me, but it was worth it), read a magazine and generally knocked about here in my bed. I was eating lunch and they gave me Benadryl. I was so sleepy I couldn't finish lunch. I got 2 units of blood during the afternoon, so slept thru most of the afternoon. The fever got pretty vicious in the afternoon, hence my bed packed with ice right now. In between fevers I had couple of visitors, that was fun.

On the medical front - No conclusive result from the bronchoscopy yet. You will notice that my WBC turned down, probably due to the normal destruction of the cells. The rash is continuing to fade, it is still painful to walk. I am not nearly as swollen as I was.
