February 24, 2004 DAY #119
Friends,
Good evening! My appointment was pretty uneventful today. No problems, except some side effects of the Rocephin. Today was my last day for Rocephin, so hopefully those will go away. I tried to get my blood drawn from the IV line, but that didn't work, so they drew it in the normal fashion, and then removed the IV. That will also be a relief to not have to deal with. I am still feeling stronger almost every day. I mentioned last week about the lab letting my blood clot and then redrawing after noon. Normally I don't take my Cyclosporine until after the lab is drawn. Of course, I took it after the first lab draw last week, so when the second lab was drawn, the results were a "peak" rather than a "trough", which is what the doctor expected. He called last Thursday and was going to lower my Cyclosporine until I explained what had happened. I didn't see the results today, but I haven't heard from the doctor, so I guess it is OK. My next appointment is next Tuesday!
On the medical front: Another cut in my prednisone from 15mg to 12.5mg. That is encouraging. It is fun to eliminate the pills. I haven't had any rashes for the last week. I talked to the doctor about the Potassium last week, and I am only taking one now. Creatinine is down to 1.2, which is in the normal range. All of the blood counts are down, but no big deal.
