Friends,

Life is good! For the first time in five or six days I've been able to tolerate the smell of food in my room. I had some soup and some pudding for lunch. Orange juice tasted great this morning for the first time in weeks. For dinner tonight I had soup and chunk tuna. None of these was in huge quantities but it's a start. I even have doctor's orders to salt my food. Eat your heart out all you frustrated salt lovers. I also got to take a shower today. It was long, luxurious and wonderful. My first shower in six or seven days. No problems of any kind today unless you count some pretty scary nightmares during my first major sleep in many days also. Overall, I felt pretty good today. I had several guests and the normal train of five or six doctors, spread from 8 in the morning till 6 at night. I wish they would all come at the same time because they all do the same examination and ask the same questions. I was even able to get in a couple hours of work today.

On the medical front, the rashes are clearing up. My kidneys are working well. My white blood cell counts and hemoglobin count are rising. I had no fever again today. I am restricted to no more than 1.5 liters of fluid intake per day. My INR is down to 6 which is still too high. They are going to take me off the Vancomycin because it has been causing some of the rashes. The nephrologists are happy because my kidney functions are improving in spite of being abused by some of the drugs I am taking.

I want to remind everyone that these updates can be found on my web page which is http://www.wilcoxent.com . Please feel free to give this web address to anyone who is interested.

A friend, Charlie, sent me this website. It has nothing to do with illness or me directly except that I found it moving. Some of you out there might like it also. http://www.pressaprint.com/som/WeSupportU2
