Friends,
Too many more of these boring days and I'll have to skip the update. Nothing much happened today. I had a RBC transfusion because RBCs are relatively slow to recover. I am starting to be able to eat more, and finished almost all of my dinner. My fluid restrictions have been lifted. That makes me VERY HAPPY!!!! I went for a much longer walk today and never really reached the point of exhaustion like I did yesterday.
On the medical front, my INR reached therapeutic levels today. I am taking Coumadin again. The doctor indicates I might be off the Heparin as soon as tomorrow. This would mean I would spend much of my day with no IV. That would be WONDERFUL!!! Unfortunately, the infectious diseases doctor wants me to take the Amphi-Z for another week. I call this medicine amphi-terrorism. Most of the medical staff and my brother call amphi-terrible. I really don't like it. It gives me hot flashes, cramps, sleeplessness, twitchiness in my feet. This is generally unpleasant medicine. My kidneys continue to improve. My rashes continue to fade. Blood pressure and temperature are stable. Many WBC counts are approaching normal levels. Overall things are looking good. I may be able to go home soon.
