Friends,
I have been so busy, I keep forgetting to do my update! Well here goes.
I visited with my Ophthalmologist yesterday. He said that my cataracts are the most disturbing kind to people. I can certainly testify to that. Both eyes are different, but my left eye went from 20/20 in November to 20/60 yesterday, with obstructions. He said it is time to get that taken care of. I scheduled the surgery today. The left eye will be done on June 22, and the right eye will be done on July 6. There will be a string of medical appointments leading up to those dates. I am really looking forward to singing “I can see clearly now my lens is gone, dah du, dah du.”
Wednesday, Menchie called me at 1pm to see if I would like to go out to lunch with her and her office mates. I said sure, but I had to finish up something on my computer. A few minutes later, I got an email asking me if I would be available to start work on a new task. I discussed it and went to lunch. Around 4:30, I interviewed for the job, and was told to start Thursday morning. So I did. I now have work for more than a month! WoooHOOOO! I will be doing some technical writing for Information Assurance for the Department of Defense.
This morning I called the Credit Union to ask about my mortgage application. I was informed that it had been denied because of my debt to income ratio. The only problem was that they had not included my disability income in the calculation, effectively cutting my income in half. Dummies! Anyway, I wnet to the local office here to complain. I told them how dissatisfied and surprised I was at the service I was getting, and told them that I was accustomed to getting a loan in about 5 minutes there just for the asking. I asked how much the payment would be for a signature loan for the amount of the mortgage. it was low enough that I decided to go that route, and within 5 minutes the funds were in my bank account, so I don’t need a mortgage. I will effectively pay cash for the house. So after being declined for a secured 30 year mortgage after two weeks of hassles, I borrowed about the same amount from the same institution with a 5 year signature loan in less than 5 minutes. It will make the transaction a lot simpler.
Next week I have a dentist appointment, a skin cancerectomy, and oral surgery. Plus working at a new job, and probably driving to New Mexico for our house closing! Not too busy next week!
Have a great weekend!
