Ted's Health Updates

Friends,
This is just a quick update about my dermatology appointment last Wednesday. I had two biopsies done and a lot of spots treated with nitrogen. When I informed the doctor that I would not have any insurance after Friday, they put a rush on the biopsy results. The results came back, negative for one area, but positive for one of the spots, right under my left ear, over the corner of my jaw bone. It was Squamous Cell Carcinoma, a type of skin cancer, and a new type of cancer for me. This type is more serious than Basal Cell Carcinomas, but fortunately we caught it very early. I had surgery on Friday to remove the cancerous cells and the doctor is quite sure it has been completely removed, but we will await the pathology report on the excised tissue to be sure.

We are doing well. After surgery, I went to my office to check out for the last time. Menchie is off next week also, so we are planning a week or so at our house in New Mexico, taking a truck load of stuff from here to there.
