November 07, 2006 , Day 21
Friends,
Yes! WBC is up to 0.3. Also another a busy afternoon for Ted. We started with the usual doctors visits. Before noon they gave him 2 packs of platelets since his count is only 3. He did a lot of sitting on the side of the bed or chair to avoid complication of pneumonia. Around 3pm he took his long leisurely shower. After shower he sat on a chair for a while then the physical therapist arrived. He did walk for about 20 steps going outside his room with the help of a walker. He did good but exhausted. Once in bed again while doing his mouth care his nose started to bleed. Nurse took his blood pressure and it was high so she gave him medicine via IV to lower it. After applying pressure and ice on his nose the bleeding stopped. It is very dry in the air right now. That is what they think that made his nose bleed.
He is more alert. But a lot of secretion are coming out from his mouth that makes talking clearly a little bit challenging. His lips is starting to get better. The rashes on his neck and back of his head are not spreading and getting better. His hands are tender and a little bit swollen and peeling, also got some rashes on the back of his hands.
On the medical front-there is no changes in his daily medicines. He received 2 packs of platelets today.
