November 10, 2006 , Day 24
Friends,
The last two days are busy days for both of us. We got some temporary changes in our routine. The hospital provided sitters while they send me home to get some sleeps. That was yesterday morning. After the doctor's round I went home yesterday and rested, while someone sits with Ted. Then around 6pm I came back to check on him and meet the evening shift sitter. I went back home around 9pm and get some more rest. Today he still got another sitter for the day while I also stay with him. Tonight I am staying with him.
Yesterday according to the sitter and his day nurse, he did walked from his room to the shower outside his room. He still tried to get some sleep but it was not successful. He did a lot of mouth care. Last night was a quiet night. He did a little bit of naps. Today he is more alert and tried to get more sleeps. He also walked to the shower again with the help of the walker and therapist.
He got some nose bleeding again. His mouth is looking much better. Just a little bit of bleeding on his lower lips. He still got some rashes on his upper back and neck.
He didn't complained of any mouth pain today. Yes, he is off the morphine drip since yesterday morning. But yesterday afternoon he complained of mouth pain so he got some push of morphine. The doctor mentioned that they will start discontinuing the medicines he is getting as the WBC rise.
On the medical front- the morphine drip and tigecycline is discontinued. He did received 2 packs of platelets today.
