Friends,
Good Evening! Today was a subtle day as far as accomplishments. Menchie confirmed that all the cultures are negative. I did not have any transfusions today. I worked really hard on the mouth and lip sores. My upper lip is pretty normal and the lower lip has dried up and does not appear to be seeping any more. This seems like a positive step to me. Hopefully by tomorrow at this time, this sore will be gone. I ate three "meals" today. In addition to beef and chicken broth, I had cream of wheat for breakfast. I need to continue expanding my food repertoire now. My doctor suggested I will be having Thanksgiving Dinner (of some sort) at home. I also walked around the atrium twice. This is a personal best in the last week or two. I was on a monitor all day today, with no problems. I suspect that taking me off the metropolol was the key.
My WBC levels are indicative of lots of activity from my immune system. This would be as expected given the improvement in various sites of mucositis. I am just hoping that the other levels keep coming up. In my first transplant, as I recall, platelets came up very fast and stayed up. Obviously, this is not the case for me currently. Hopefully this will change.
