November 17, 2006 , Day 31

Friends,

Looks like we have reached the time when every day is different, but it is hard to describe the differences. I felt very weak this morning, and had some more episodes of the very slow heart rate. I was thinking it felt a lot like dehydration. Today my doctor suggested that I was low on fluid volume. So we are working on bringing my fluid levels up a little. Perhaps associated with all this was feeling extremely weak today. I only walked out to the front door of my room today, then I had to come back.

On the medical front, I am getting my last dose of Levaquin today. Levaquin is one of the antibiotics they used while I went through the transplant. To help get the fluid levels right they are stopping the Lasix. However, they also want me to get my sodium levels up, so they want me to drink lots of salty drinks. I have been trying to comply. I added Gatorade to my inventory of intake choices.
