Friends,
HOME...! Home, Home, Home. I'm home after 51 days in the hospital. Today has been an amazing day, and I am totally beat. Menchie is still running around the county like a madwoman, but I hope she settles down pretty soon. Today started well. We got up, had breakfast and then I got dressed in my hawaiian rig and went for a short walk. Menchie spent most of the rest of the morning packing the car while I rested. The nutritionist told us I had eaten something like 1600 calories yesterday, so we beat that hurdle nicely. The Docs were pleased with my progress and efforts and told me I would be able go home. About an hour later, we got all of my prescriptions, finished packing and left the hospital. What a feeling! I sat in the car laughing with tears running down my cheeks. I arrived home about 1pm or so, completely spent. We had lunch and I slept much of the afternoon while Menchie unpacked and went to the drug store and other places to get the things we need immediately. It is so nice to be in my own bed!
Now that I am home, I will be going into the hospital every other day for the near future for checkups. Since I won't have much to report on the days I am home, I will not be sending out an update unless something significant happens, so look for updates on a less frequent basis.
