Friends,
After a great night, (my fevers and cough are gone) we had kind of a wild day. It started with the usual doctor visits scattered about an hour apart, but all of them were about me going home. I got the bone marrow biopsy this morning, successfully done by the fellow who was supervising yesterday. However, as I was lying face down in my bed, effectively naked, I gave him some stern suggestions about how he should treat his patients. He took it like a man, and even followed my suggestions during the procedure. I think his confidence was so shaken from yesterday's incident, he requested help from the head doctor, which I really appreciated. My breathing is still improving. Shortly after lunch I was released from the hospital.
I'M HOME!!!!!!!
I have a visiting nurse coming daily to give meds and take blood samples. The dogs were really happy to see me, although it was a little difficult for me to be around them because they were so exuberant. When I got home, I immediately went to bed, being pretty exhausted. I started watching TV and woke up about 2 hours later. I took another nap before a wonderful dinner cooked by Menchie. I even had a fresh banana!
It has been a very exhausting day, but a very happy one. My next appointment will be on Monday, so unless something really special happens, I will probably send out my next update then.
On the medical front- WBC jumped right up to almost the middle of the normal range! Wow! They discontinued all medications except Tobramycin. The new rash has spread over much of my upper body again. They think it was from one of the new antibiotics. Since that is now gone, hopefully it will not spread further. A slight increase in RBC and PLT is encouraging also. No fevers, minimal coughing.
