September 19, 2006 , Day 40
Friends,
I was supposed to send out an update yesterday, I know, but I was tired after the football game and I couldn't help being asleep. It wasn't my fault! I will try to make it up to you today.
We spent the morning at the hospital yesterday. Bob was getting the stem cells removed from his system. He and I kind of terrorized the bone marrow unit for a while. That was fun. My visit to the hospital ended with a CT scan of my chest. I haven't heard anything about it, so I assume that means the pneumonia is gone.
After leaving the hospital, we went to Rubios for lunch. That was really fun for me. Then we went to the local Leukemia and Lymphoma Society office to talk to patient services, and visit all our friends there. I was pretty tired by the end of the day with all that activity.
Today, Bob donated more stem cells. He will be going home tomorrow morning. It has been really fun to have him visiting for the week.
I rested mostly today, but I did ride my bike on the trainer for about 10 minutes. Only a little over a mile, but I was pretty much exhausted. I was shaking all over, and Menchie helped me off the bike. I was pretty wasted for the rest of the day. Maybe tomorrow I will ride longer.
On the medical front - Sunday was the last day for the antibiotics, so I am hoping I start feeling a lot better a lot faster. The doctors are evaluating my situation tomorrow, and will come up with a plan. I am supposed to get a call from my doctor tomorrow to let me know what the plan is. I don't expect anything this week. I suspect we might start the conditioning regimen Monday. I guess I will have to send out an update tomorrow to tell everyone the plan.
Lab results are getting pretty boring right now, but here they are for Saturday and Monday:
